Helping Restore the Private Home of Pamela Kilgo
Our family is leading a fundraising effort to rebuild Pamela Kilgo’s private residence in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While initial debris removal is complete, major renovation is still required.
This property endured damage from a second-floor fire and a separate sewage event in the basement. Professional roofing experts suggest a structural rebuild starting from the second-floor ceiling through the rafters and roof joists. Final plans will be determined by a certified repair assessment.
The project’s next phases include complete HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations alongside main floor and basement reconstruction. We are also evaluating site stability regarding the retaining walls and local root systems.
We are currently sourcing formal contractor bids to define the total budget. The fundraising goal will be adjusted as insurance, grants, or donated materials are secured. Toni is overseeing all financial records and will provide transparency on every milestone.
Please consider a meaningful contribution and share this fundraiser with your network. For substantial gifts or offers of donated labor and materials, contact Toni at Tkilgo@sankofa-engineering.com to discuss the documented project needs. Donations support professional assessments, necessary design, demolition, debris removal, reconstruction, building systems, permits, inspections, and fundraiser transaction fees. This is a personal home restoration fundraiser, separate from Pam’s House Foundation.

Meet Kayla: Love in Action
Meet my niece, Kayla, who has been an incredible source of strength during some of our family’s most difficult days. She has taken the lead in caring for her grandmother, showing up with patience, compassion, and a level of attention that makes our whole family proud. From the everyday needs to the little moments that bring comfort and joy, Kayla gives her grandmother something truly special: the steady love of family. Kayla, thank you for all that you do. We see your dedication, and we are deeply grateful. — Toni.
